My Love for Spicy Foods and Heartburn Relief Tips
Spicy foods and heartburn seem to go hand in hand for me. I refuse to give up my love for spice. Back in the day I use to be able to eat what I want, whenever I wanted. Those days seem to be gone forever. When did this happen? When did I become this person that has to worry about heartburn? I thought this was just a pregnancy thing. What’s worse? I find it determining where I go to eat. I learned something this week. I almost want to stand on top of a huge building and scream out loud that I found a solution! It’s PEPCID® COMPLETE™.
PEPCID® COMPLETE® is an antacid and a acid reducer, so it starts working quickly. I’ve tried every heartburn product on the market (even some prescription meds too) and none work as fast as this. Some you have to take for days before they work. Plus, it lasts all day (and night if needed). No need to keep taking it often. Did you know: In taste tests, PEPCID COMPLETE™ is preferred more than TUMS®+
So guess what I did. I found that trendy restaurant that has a whole slue of spicy sauces and put all my fear aside. Mongo Fire here I come!
Mongo Fire Mongolian grill is a trendy restaurant in Austin, Texas that lets you create your own plate, then they cook it for you. They have a variety of different sauces and most of them have some level of spiciness. They also have a huge chart that you can use as a guide if you are not sure which sauce combination taste you are going for. Careful though, it’s easy to go overboard. Your plate will begin to overflow before you even get to the veggies.
Should I go further and add the extra, extra hot sauce?
Nah, I’m not that brave. The jalapenos and chilies were enough without the extra sauce.
Thank You PEPCID®! I will always be sure to have my stock on hand. (Tip: the berry flavor is good!)
We all know that some foods can cause discomfort, but heartburn pain shouldn’t stop food enthusiasts from enjoying new cuisines and bold flavors. The makers of PEPCID® products want to enable fellow foodies to relish every moment of their restaurant experience, even if heartburn strikes.
More Information About Heartburn:
- Heartburn has nothing to do with your heart, so why call it heartburn? Probably because it’s easier than saying “esophageal burn.” Heartburn happens when acid escapes from your stomach up into your esophagus. Unlike the stomach, the esophagus isn’t meant to house acid, so that’s when you feel the burn.
- Food is the most common heartburn trigger. Your stomach may react to some foods by increasing acid production, slowing down digestion, or inhibiting the esophageal sphincter’s ability to prevent stomach contents from leaking back into the esophagus.
- Who gets heartburn? Look around you: many of the people you see may get occasional heartburn. What triggers heartburn varies from person to person, but some of the common culprits can include diet, smoking, and being overweight.

It’s good to know some heartburn relief tips. I really like Mexican foods so this could come in handy. I’ll remember these tips when I go out for Mexican.
