Useful Kitchen Tools for the Keto Diet
Useful Kitchen Tools for the Keto Diet
Good Morning!
I’m just sitting here sipping my morning coffee and shopping online for a Full Sheet Silicone Baking mat! You know why? Because my Keto lifestyle has me cooking and baking all the time! And… I hate how the parchment paper moves all over the place when I’m trying to roll out the dough. I have the 1/2 sheet silicone mats but I wanted a big one and they don’t carry them in my local stores!! Besides, it will save me money in the long run because it’s reusable (unlike parchment paper)
This one is the size I want, has circle guides, and baking conversion charts!! I shouldn’t be THIS excited over a baking mat, but I AM!
This is the Full Sheet Silicone Baking mat I purchased this morning.
This got me to thinking… I have a few useful kitchen tools that I cannot live without while doing the Ketogenic Diet and I figured it would be useful to share what I have!
Useful Kitchen Tools List
Silicone Baking Mats
Silicone Baking Mats I have 2 – 1/2 sheets and now one full sheet size! I find the different sizes are useful for different things. They even have a circle silicone mat for pizzas! These are non stick and save me money on parchment paper!
Veggie Spiralizer
Veggie Spiralizer There are so many different kinds of Veggie Spiralizers. You can get one for under the $20 mark or invest in something that will last a lifetime. I personally own the Veggie Spiralizer attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. I make so many zucchini noodles that I found the purchase worth the money. It’s super easy to use, easy to clean and well made!

Good Kitchen Knife Set
I think everyone should have a good kitchen knife set not matter what diet plan you are doing. The price ranges on knives are crazy! I feel like I have tested them all too! I’ve purchased some really expensive knives at my local restaurant supply store and I’ve also purchased some knife sets that are under the $20 mark on Amazon! If you are on a budget, I highly suggest grabbing this set: Cuisinart Ceramic 12 piece Knife Set – it’s inexpensive and high quality!
Measuring Cup Set
I’m not sure what I would do without my measuring cups or my measuring spoons. Measuring is key to some of these Keto Friendly recipes and I would be lost without them.
I can tell you that I am in love with my Pyrex glass measuring cups though. I find them easy to heat water or heat cheese in the microwave if needed! I wouldn’t dare trust a plastic measuring cup to that job. I have the 3 size set that includes a large, medium and small one cup size! Sometimes I will use the big one as a bowl for the recipes. Especially because it has a spout that makes pouring batter easy.
Food Processor
OMG! Why didn’t I have this listed first because this may be one of the most important tools I have in my kitchen. Seriously. I know no one really “needs” a food processor but for busy moms like me, it’s a life saver for my sanity! If you are considering purchasing a food processor, invest in a good one. I would purchase one with a wide base. Don’t purchase a cone shaped food processor. Or don’t purchase the blenders that are also used as a food processor. These types of food processors have a smaller base which means an even smaller blade. A small blade will not help food process or mix very well. Certain ingredients will get stuck. Instead, purchase something similar to this Cuisinart Food Processor. They make an 8 cup, 10 cup and even a 14 cup food processor! I have the 8 cup and it works well for my family of four. It’s a bulky kitchen tool but worth its weight in gold to me!
Blender
This one is an easy choice for me. Maybe it’s because I’ve already tried them all. I have a nice, fancy Blendtec blender which is amazing in every way but I don’t feel you need to spend that kind of money if you don’t have to. I have a Nutri Ninja Pro blender that I love! It’s compact size but has the power of a big blender! It has a large cup and a small cup. This is my go to tool when I am making Low Carb Keto Pancakes or Low Carb Keto Fluffy Waffles recipes! It blends the cream cheese with the rest of the ingredients like a pro! Maybe the other reason I don’t like the bulky blenders is that I don’t want to pull them out. I love for my kitchen counters to be clutter-free.
It goes without saying that you should have a good set of baking pans and frying pans. I have new pans and old pans that I will never get rid of. There are just some things I love and will hold on to forever. One of those things is my cast iron pans. I love the way meat cooks on a cast iron pan.
I also have a love for wooden spoons. I have a mix of old wooden spoons but I also have a cute set of Long Handle Measuring spoons too! Speaking of wooden kitchen tools, I have my grandmothers old wooden rolling pin. You know the kind with the red handles? The red on the handles has almost completely worn off but the rolling pin works great!
