Top Five Hidden Gem Action Movies on Netflix
Sitting down to a night of Netflix is a ton of fun but you can spend hours digging through the pages trying to find something good. Because there are so many B-type movies mixed in, you can find yourself stopping and starting movies all evening long. What follows are five awesome action movies that are sure fire winners on Netflix right now. These hidden gems are not all new by any means, but they are all great movies in the action genre if you have not seen them:
Deep Impact – This action movie is from way back in 1998 but it holds up incredibly today. The movie is about a massive comet plummeting to earth and the world preparing for it. What will happen when and if the comet strikes? The movie does a wonderful job of building characters you care about and you can literally feel the fear throughout.
World War Z – Okay okay….This movie actually got poor reviews by some and it does star Brad Pitt as a UN rep. that is trying to save his family (and the world) form a horde of zombies. Sounds nuts, right? Well, it is but that is what makes it so awesome. If you can imagine The Walking Dead on Steroids you will have World War Z. The zombies are extremely fast….No slow and lumbering walkers here folks.
Pain & Gain – Directed by Michael Bay and starring two huge superstars in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Mark Wahlberg, Pain & Gain was largely panned by reviewers and ignored by the public. Despite this, I gave it a watch. I don’t know what it was, but I laughed all the way through the movie. There is plenty of great action and this movie should have gotten better reviews. It rocked! (no pun intended)
Shooter – Another Mark Wahlberg movie that makes this list is Shooter. What makes this interesting is that I am not even particularly a fan of Marks. The movie just grabs me. This was a non-stop drama that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. If you want a movie that will have your attention and not let go, Shooter is the one for you.
The Peacemaker – You want action? How about this classic that is hidden in the depths of Netflix? The Peacemaker is a wonderful action flick that is constantly moving and extremely good at making you think. It stars a George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. The Peacemaker goes by so fast you will feel like it just started. There is not a wasted moment in the film in my opinion.
