Baking Soda Diaper Rash Solutions
When your baby is suffering from a diaper rash, pretty much everyone for a square mile is going to know about it. This common problem is extremely painful and can cause even the calmest baby to cry in discomfort.
Finding a solution to this is extremely important and you want something that works quickly. While there are a number of solutions out there, the best solutions are natural and safe for your baby’s bottom. One of the best solutions for diaper rash is using baking soda.
Baking soda can ease diaper rash in a number of different ways. Here are some of the most popular baking soda diaper rash solutions available:
Baking Soda With Lard
Many parents swear by this paste that is rather easy to make. Take two to three tablespoons of lard and mix it with a dollop of aloe vera. Once this is a paste, add in a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix it all up well into a fine paste and put it on the baby’s bottom as you would diaper cream. Put on a fresh diaper as normal.
Baking Soda Bath
A clean mixture of water and baking soda can do wonders all by itself but you want to be sure to do it regularly and don’t put too much baking soda. Add in about a tablespoon to each regular sized bath. There are many variations of this bath that also include oatmeal milk, epsom salts and various others. I have found that the straight baking soda seems to be the best solution for diaper rash where baths are concerned.
Baking Soda Bath With Yogurt Wash
Yogurt is a wonderful cool way to ease the pain of diaper rash while also solving the problem. Take yogurt and wash the affected area gently. Take special care to let the cooling effects of the yogurt sink in before rinsing. Then apply the paste like from above in the first section to the area and allow to dry a bit. This will ease the pain and work on the problem as well.
Other Tips for Diaper Rash:
—If your baby has open sores or skin, you need to have it looked at by the doctor. Open areas can allow entry into the body and that is why baking soda solutions should not be used in those cases.
—Try these methods with regularity before giving up on them. Each of them require a bit of time to really be effective.
—Keep the amounts of baking soda limited because it is quite strong.
Baking soda diaper rash solutions are a wonderful way to keep your baby out of pain and with soft, clean skin on their bottom. The inevitable diaper rash will likely come along, however, so don’t worry. These easy, natural solutions will certainly do the trick.
