City of Cedar Park, TX offers Free Cave Day! 9/17 Saturday!

My family visited the Cedar Park Caves last year and we had a blast! Twice a year the city opens up these caves to visitors. Kids love it! Hey, it’s FREE too!

CAVE DAY is sponsored by the City of Cedar Park – Parks & Recreation Department and hosted by theTexas Cave Conservancy. The event is from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. There is no charge.

  1. The first site is the new City of Cedar Park – Discovery Well Cave Preserve. On this self-guided hike, red flags mark the trails to the caves New Educational signs have been installed at each cave. There is no cave access on this site. There are over three miles of trails on this site. Access to the site will start from Anderson Mill Road. Travel information is available at the Dies Ranch Treasure Cave.
  2. Another hike starts from the Discover Well Cave Preserve and visits five caves in the Buttercup Cave Preserve. There is no cave entry on this site. You may also come on out and check out the preserve year round. Educational signs have been installed at each cave on this self-guided hike. Travel information is available at the Dies Ranch Treasure Cave.
  3. The third site will be at the Twin Creeks Historical Area. This new park has a historical log cabin, beautiful springs, tall trees, running water year round and even an Indian Shelter Cave available for visitation. Allow fifteen minutes to drive to the site. It is available for visitation year round. Travel information is available at the Dies Ranch Treasure Cave.
