Delicious Acorn Squash Recipe
This Delicious Acorn Squash Recipe is a must try! My mouth is watering all over again just thinking about how good it is. The combination of the flavors will tickle your tastebuds but it’s also a pretty hearty dish so it will satisfy that mean hunger too! This is why my husband likes it too! He’s not big on many veggie dishes but this recipe is a keeper for sure! I think the hardest part about this recipe is actually cutting the acorn squash. Not only do you have to cut it down the center but you will need to but off the ends so they will sit on the baking sheet nicely and hold all the ingredients in it while baking.
Acorn Squash Recipe Ingredients:
2 acorn squash
1 pound italian sausage
1 cup of apples cubed (I used fuji but you can use whatever you like)
1/2 cup of parmasan cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 stalk celery chopped fine
salt and pepper
Acorn Squash Recipe Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Cut Acorn squash in half. you may have to cut the ends off also so they lay flat on a baking sheet. Scoop out the seeds inside of the squash. Brush the inside of the squash with olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper over them. Bake for 30 minutes.
In a large frying pan fry sausage over a medium heat until no longer pink. Add in celery and apples. I love the taste of Fuji apples and this is what I used but you can use any flavor apple you like. Now continue to cook this mixture for another five minutes for so to soften the apples and celery and combine all the flavors into all the ingredients. Add bread crumbs and cheese. mix all together well. Scoop mixture into each acorn squash. Bake for 30 minutes.
That’s pretty easy! Now your probably wondering what you can whip up for dessert right? Take a look at how simple Cake Mix cookies are to make. There are so many variations and they are super easy to whip up in a few minutes too.
