DiGiorno makes for an Easy Slam Dunk Party!
DiGiorno makes for an Easy Slam Dunk Party!
Are you looking for an easy “slam dunk” party idea for this march? We are ready for basketball and we like our basketball foods too. This mom wants to partake of the fun festivities instead of slaving away at the stove so I go to our favorite pizza, Digiorno’s!
First, I had to start with easy planning of our Basketball party. This meant a trip to our local Walmart for all of our goodies! Normally I try and go by myself, but this time the whole family was with me. Is it just me, or do you find that you spend more money when the whole family goes to the store? I swear I spend more.
The little one insisted only on a dessert option and cookies was at the top of her list! I can handle that! They are round so I thought we could easily make little basketballs out of cookies! My husband insisted on pizza and nobody argued with him! Especially me! This means this party will be easy because I don’t have to spend lots of time preparing for it! Oh how I love this man! Pizza it is!
There are tons of pizza choices at Walmart but my honey is a bit picky. He likes certain pizzas with lots of cheese and noticeable toppings. Here he is trying to convince me to buy his favorite! I cannot resist that face! Seriously! How adorable is he?!!!
He totally got his way too! He choose the new DIGIORNO® Stuffed Crust Buffalo Chicken and the DIGIORNO® Stuffed Crust Sausage, Peppers, and Onions! I’m good with both of those too! Good choices!
To complete our party meal, another easy option was fresh veggies. We all love fresh baby carrots and celery dipped in ranch. Easy Peasy!
Now to through it all together to create a easy “Slam Dunk” party will take no time at all!
Here are the list of Basketball Party Food Ideas we came up with:
- DIGIORNO® Stuffed Crust Buffalo Chicken
- DIGIORNO® Stuffed Crust Sausage, Peppers, and Onions
- Veggie cups (celery, baby carrots with Ranch Dressing)
- Oreo Cookies make into little basketballs for dessert
- Vanilla Pudding Pies made into basketballs for dessert
All of these items that require a little prep can be made ahead of time. We ended up making the vanilla pudding pies, basketball Oreo cookies and veggie cups ahead of time.
To make the Basketball Oreo Cookies we simple melted some Wilton Orange Chocolate pieces in a bowl and dipped Oreo cookies in the chocolate. We then set them on wax paper allowing time for the chocolate to set. Lastly, we used black gel to create the basketball marks on our cookies. Easy dessert idea.
The veggie cups were pretty easy to make too. We used a clear plastic cup (5 oz). We added a small amount of Ranch dressing to the bottom of the cup and filled it with our cut up celery and baby carrots.
It’s Party Time!!!
I can tell you the biggest hit was definitely the pizza! We all loved it! I couldn’t believe how much cheese and toppings were packed on our pizzas! My favorite was the DIGIORNO® Stuffed Crust Buffalo Chicken because of the small amount of buffalo sauce that you could taste in the mix! Talk about being packed with flavor! Huge chicken chunks too! Love that!
My husband and kids loved the DIGIORNO® Stuffed Crust Sausage, Peppers, and Onions! My husband loves a meaty pizza so this was perfect! The kids really enjoyed the cheese stuffed crust! Usually they leave the crust but not this time! My only problem is that I should have bought more pizzas! They want it again!
Is your mouth watering yet??!!
That was definitely an easy “Slam Dunk” party for me!
