Easy Pound Cake Recipe
Easy Pound Cake Recipe
Check out this super Easy Pound Cake Recipe! We made it using a box recipe but we added some cute Valentine’s hearts in the middle. Don’t get intimidated by how difficult this looks to make because it’s not hard at all!
The trick to this recipe is to make two separate pound cakes. Then use a cute cookie cutter to cut out the hearts, then place the cooked pound cake hearts in another pan and add the other pound cake batter on top of it. We used a double hearts cookie cutter like this one here. Easy-peasy!
We also added a super simple yummy glaze to go over the top of this pound cake recipe. It’s optional but definitely a nice added touch.

I think these are super cute and totally “boy” friendly! I am the only female in my home and find it difficult to do holiday themed desserts and things that are acceptable and not too frilly for males. My question on these is, do the hearts/CUTOUTS that you choose to re-bake, get hard or does the moisture from the new batter keep them from over-baking/drying out?
That’s adorable! You could do bunnies for Easter and shamrocks for st pats and pumpkins for Halloween… I’m going to have lots of fun with this one! Thanks for sharing it.
What do you do with the excess batter? I hate wasting… could i make little cupcakes? Was thinking i could use the leftover from the colored one for a parfait or trifle or something.
Yes! Great ideas you have!!! I would use the extra batter for cupcakes too!
