Five Things To Purge During Spring Cleaning
Five Things to Purge During Spring Cleaning
Spring Cleaning is supposed to be a time of cleansing. The excitement of a new day and a cleaner you comes along with the breezy days and warmer weather. One of the primary ways to get that feeling going full blast is to start purging.
Does anything feel better in the “clean up” world than to get rid of stuff you no longer need and free up space? Here are five awesome purging targets to get your spring cleaning schedule off and running properly:
Under Bed Clutter
I can’t stand to have my bedroom cluttered and even though most people are never going to see under my bed, I know it is there. If you have under bed clutter, you know what I mean.
Sometimes the clutter is not junk and it might even be stuff you want to keep, but is it stored neatly and properly under there? If not, take the time to invest in under bed storage or find a better way to store it elsewhere.
Closet Clutter
Do you feel the clutter tumbling on your head when you open a particular closet? Most of us have that closet that nobody knows about that is filled to the brim with things that have no place or purpose. Get it out and get it gone this Spring!
Outdated Paperwork
Paperwork is really an easy fix with today’s electronic and digital world, but some of us still insist on going the paper route.
If you are one of those people, be sure to go through and purge the outdated stuff each Spring. You will keep that paperwork under control and the clutter to a minimum in this way. (Also consider going digital….you will thank us later)
Garage Junk
If you have to dodge anything when you pull into your garage, you definitely have some purging to do. Get off the old keister and start cleaning out that garage junk that has been sitting there since the early 70’s.
It is a bear but once you get started you will feel like a million bucks. You might even find some old treasures you forgot existed.
Kitchen Supply Extras
The kitchen is the one place where having doubles and triples of things is thought to be okay. The truth is, you don’t need all that doubling. Yes, you need to have extras of some things. Do you really need three can openers, however? Do you need to have seventeen different wooden spoons? Go through your kitchen and downsize where possible. You might be shocked at how your drawers look when you finish.
