Here’s a Fun Craft Project made from Magazines! Upscaled Wall Art!
Craft Project made from Magazines
I have tons and tons of magazines and I bet all you iSavers do because I am constantly giving you magazine deals! lol…
Why not do something fun with the magazines you are done reading!
I purchased these very outdated pieces of wall art from a garage sale for only $5! My daughter and I grabbed some paint and changed them into something we each can enjoy!
Butterflies!!! Who doesn’t love butterflies, right?!
Items Needed:
Paint Brush
Acrylic Paint
Old wall art piece
Magazines
Scissors
Hot glue gun
glue sticks
And your imagination…
We painted our old art pieces and let them dry outside for about 1 hour. While it was drying we cut out our butterflies. Be creative. They can be all different kinds of shapes and sizes.
Here’s a butterfly template you can print out if you need help. (To print it just click on the photo and it will open in a separate window for you to print) You can fold it in half (as seen below) and cut it out.
After you’ve cut out all of the butterflies you will need, lay them out in a pattern that you like. Get the hot glue gun ready. Be sure all of your butterfly wings are folded at the dotted lines because it will create a 3D effect!
Lastly just glue one strip of hot glue down the body of the butterfly (not on the wings) and press firmly on your wall art. Dry and hang! Voila! You just created a masterpiece of your very own!
I have plenty of newspapers, so stay tuned for more fun newspaper projects!
