You can use any cheese you want to make the cheesy taco shells too. We often times have mozzarella on hand more than any other cheese. The technique to make them will be the same. You will always bake the cheese ahead of time. The longer you cook the cheese the crunchier it will get. Once the cheese starts to bubble, you know it’s done!
It’s always important to stock up on parchment paper if you are doing any sort of keto baking too. I use this paper all the time so that the cheese dough doesn’t stick to the pan I am using. You saw us first start using parchment paper when we made our famous Low Carb Cheese Crackers that are Keto Friendly!
Here’s a recipe if you want to make homemade taco seasoning. You will find some brands at the store contain sugar.
Don’t be alarmed by the unsweetened cocoa in this recipe either. It adds a level of depth and flavor that you will LOVE without the chocolate taste. It’s an old baking/cooking secret that I use in lots of my recipes. You can see this flavor use in our Quick Keto Chili Recipe too!
