5 Tips to Organize your Party Favors

 

Do you keep party favors? Most of us are likely to gather them like a collection. You know how it is… when you throw a party of any kind, you end up with banners and other decorations and favors left over. You hate to throw them out, so you save them. All of those holiday and birthday party favors can really add up, so you have to keep them organized. Here are some tips to help you put them in order.

Bag Up Items

Don’t just throw all of your favors into a big pile. Sort everything and bag up like items in zippered storage bags. You may have a few birthday banners, or maybe a few New Year’s noisemakers. Perhaps you even have some Mardi Gras beads. Sort and bag them and be sure to mark every bag with the occasion and the theme. Having each theme together will make it much easier when new party occasions come along.

Store in Clear or Decorative Boxes

Pick out an assortment of clear, plastic storage boxes or some decorative boxes to keep all of your goodies in. You can decorate each box according to the occasion or theme.

Label Everything

One of the most important things about getting your party favors organized is making sure you get everything labeled correctly. Label the bags you have individual items stored in and then make sure you label the outside of each box. Labeling the box saves you the hassle of opening each box looking for a specific item. If you are feeling motivated, write an inventory list to put on the outside of each box so you won’t even need to open any in order to figure out if what you’re looking for is inside.

Create a Place for Everything

Once you have all of your party favors tucked away neatly and in an organized manner in the boxes, you will need to make sure you have a place for everything. You know the saying — “A place for everything and everything in its place.” Designate a spot in your storage area, utility room, closet, or basement to keep all of these boxes of party favors.

Make a List

Before you put everything away in storage, make a master inventory list. Keep it somewhere accessible so it’s available when you need it. The master inventory list will save you from needing to look over the boxes to see if you have a specific item that you need.

Having all of those party favors organized and put away means that you can pull them out without a fuss when you have your next party. The decorations and favors are a big part of the fun of any party, so your organization project will make it easier for you when it’s time to party.
