Pressure Cooker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe
Pressure Cooker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe
It’s no secret that I am in LOVE with my new Instant Pot Electric Pressure cooker and this Pressure Cooker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls recipe is proof! Guess what? My husband even attempted to use the Instant Pot Electric Pressure cooker the other day too! I started to think that I really didn’t want him to know how easy it was to get dinner on the table since I bought this thing. lol! If you are new to pressure cooking you may want to head over and read my Pressure Cooker Chicken Noodle soup recipe because I explain in detail the differences between the two different versions I have of the Instant Pot. I prefer the Instant Pot DUO model found here on Amazon if I was to purchase it today. I also mention a few must have accessories too.
This stuffed cabbage rolls recipe is crazy good! We do get lazy sometimes and make our healthy Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls soup too. Both are popular around here!
Here are the ingredients needed for the Pressure Cooker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe:
- 1 Small head cabbage
- 1 onion
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups rice
- 32 oz can condensed tomato soup
- 8 oz diced tomatoes (I prefer to use Fire Roasted Tomatoes just like these seen here on Amazon. You can find them in your local grocery store too)
Here are the instructions for the Pressure Cooker Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe:
First, remove the core from your cabbage with a sharp knife. Place the whole head of cabbage on a trivet in your Instant Pot with one cup of water. Use the manual setting, high pressure for 15 minutes. Do a quick release.
While cabbage is cooking. Make your rice either on the stove top, rice cooker or in another pressure cooker. I put mine in a second pressure cooker on the Rice setting 2 cups rice 3 cups water for 12 minutes. Do a quick release and let your rice cool. Add in one chopped onion 1 pound ground beef, and 1/2 cup diced tomatoes. Stir together until all well combine.
Remove your cabbage and let cool completely. Remove your whole cabbage leaves. Place one cabbage on a flat surface. Place 1-2 tbs of the rice mixture in the middle. Roll up the cabbage with the rice in the middle tucking the sides in.
Empty half the can of tomato soup into your instant pot along with 1 cup of water. Whisk together the tomato soup and the water. Place your cabbage rolls in your Instant pot. You can layer them on top of each other. I had my pot almost filled to the top.
Place on manual high pressure for 15 minutes. Do a quick release.
Serve your cabbage rolls.
This recipe has become a weekly favorite in our house.

Would really like a print feature.
I used the techniques, but not the exact recipe. I have a power xl pressure cooker. Steamed the cabbage on veggie/steam for two minutes. Worked well. But then the inner leaves were not as done so I did 2 more minutes which was too much. Drained most of water and put sauce ingredients in and a rack to keep the rolls off the bottom. Stacked them in and pressure cooked 10 minutes(soup button) and they came out perfect. Very intense flavor and moist. Cabbage was very. Tender and fragile.
I tried this and it didn’t work out for me. It kept giving me the burn error and had not pressurized after almost an hour. I opened it and put them in a casserole dish and put them in the oven. The bottom of the pot was definitely starting to burn. I’m glad I opened it when I did. I’m sure they will be delicious even after finishing them in the oven though! Looks like an amazing recipe
I am making this recipe and it looks wonderful. I love cabbage and tomatoes are one of my favorites as well. I am wondering what to do with the remainder of the soup. I am going to take a guess and pour it over the cabbage rolls. Do you include a small trivet as well? Thanks.
